Michelle Williams and pastor Chad Johnson have called off their engagement.

The 38-year-old Destiny's Child singer announced the news in a since-deleted Instagram Story post on Friday (December 7) morning. "I still remain fearless," she wrote. "I guess I still remain single! Things didn’t work out. The healing that needs to take place is a must! I don’t wanna destroy another relationship. Blessings to him, his family and ministry. #FEARLESS." Michelle's mentioning of fearless also seems to be in reference to her latest single, "Fearless," which she dropped just before her split announcement.

The former couple got engaged in March after a year of dating. "I was so shocked! I was weeping and wailing," Michelle recalled to Good Morning America following her engagement. "He proposed to me in Pebble Beach at this beautiful resort and I was crying so loud that people were turning around, going back to their rooms and stuff, they weren’t coming to the restaurant because they were like, 'Did she just find out something he did bad? What happened?'"

However, the relationship hit a rough patch in the weeks after Chad proposed with Michelle calling off the engagement twice. Nonetheless, their relationship struggles ended up taking a back seat to Michelle's mental health struggles after the "Fearless" singer entered a treatment facility for severe depression three months after Chad popped the question. During that time, Michelle admittedly tried to push Chad away, however, the pastor remained by his then-fiancee's side.

Ultimately, the two decided to undergo intense individual and premarital counseling, People reported at the time. The couple even got a reality series, Chad Loves Michelle, on OWN, which documented their relationship as they went through counseling and tackled Michelle's mental health struggles.
