Quavo went to the 52nd Annual Legislative Conference, to speak with lawmakers on gun violence.
He had a private meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris, and met with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and New Jersey Senator Corey Booker as the respresentative of Rocket Foundation, which was created in memory of Takeoff to “support programs which are saving lives through proven, community-based solutions to prevent gun violence.”
Quavo's mother Edna Marshall and sister Titani Davenport who is Takeoff's mother joined him on his visit,
“I need to step up to the plate and hit a home run. I have to do something about it, so it won’t happen to the masses—especially in our culture. I don’t want this to happen to the next person. I want to knock down these percentages.” Quavo said.
The latest collab is produced by Atake, basobeats, Sluzyyy, and macoshooter49. Quavo and Future have teamed up in the past, when they linked up on “Picasso” off of Migos’ Culture III and Pop Smoke’s “Snitching.”
The group performed Unc & Phew’s “Hotel Lobby” and Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” during a surprise set.
TakeOff’s verse was played as a white spotlight paid tribute to him, followed by an image of him on the screen behind Quavo and Offset.
On what would've been his 29th birthday, Takeoff was remembered by both Offset and Quavo.
“Happy birthday rocket man,” Offset wrote. “The greatest to touch a mic!! best spirit ever!! purest man I know your heart was golden bring me peace bra we celebrate your life because you still right here I love you gang.”
