- The mural had been given the green light from city officials in Martinez, California.
- "Black Lives Matter" was painted on the street in front of a downtown courthouse on July 4.
- After the painting was done, Anderson started painting over the words.
- Nelson could be heard on the video saying, "We're sick of this narrative. There is no oppression. There is no racism. It's a leftist lie."
- Both face a year in county jail if convicted.
